Footprints – Art Project

Here’s a quick art project I did for class today.  We had to go out somewhere on campus and find a location we liked.  Then we had to take objects from that area and make some sort of art piece out of them.  This was inspired by Andy Goldsworthy‘s work.

Josh (my partner for this project) and I figured that we would use a usually unnoticed part of campus, the pathway behind Fuller Labs.  We started thinking:  What is a path for?  It’s for walking.  Conveniently, there were plants along the path that looked something like a footprint, so we decided we would trace out a set of footprints using leaves picked from these plants.  You can see the initial state of the path, the setup, and the final product in the gallery above.
